A WRITER’S TALE

Stories flooding through my head,
Of knights, and elves, and mages.
Dragons roar with fiery breath,
My mind creates the pages.

“Let me in”, my spirit begs,
Provoking revelation.
Edges blur and bleed within,
Divine imagination.

Tempting me from bleak-stained truth,
Are worlds for which I’m aching.
Magic thrives where dreams begin,
A wonder for the taking.

Roaming far away from fact,
For fiction yields more riches.
The pen is truly mightier,
When faced with beasts and witches.

From mere words a strength is found,
Where weakness once did dwell.
Heaven’s light, just out of reach,
Grants sanctuary from Hell.

Eyes are closed and breath is held,
Waves crash upon a shore.
Fancy broken free from binds,
Walks through the open door.
