About Our Proofreaders
Your manuscript has gone through self-editing by you, the author. It has been read by beta readers. It has gone through the important stage of copy editing. Now you need to consider one last step—a proofread. One final step to make certain your book will be as close to perfect as humanly possible.
Proofreading is primarily about searching your writing for errors, both grammatical and typographical, before publishing your manuscript. Proofreading means examining your text carefully to find and correct typographical errors and mistakes in grammar, style, and spelling. Our team will correct grammatical errors, including punctuation, capitalization, verb tense, spelling, sentence structure, coherence, and flow. The value of a proofreader is this: after he or she has reviewed and revised a document, you can be sure that it is ready for your intended audience. Copy editors and proofreaders ensure that material is clear and consistent, complete and credible, and that text is well written and grammatically correct. With RMJ Manuscript Service LLC, we have you covered. Another set of eyes besides your eyes or the eyes of your editor. We all know two sets of eyes are better than one. Final Eyes. One last pass to make sure all grammatical errors have been corrected.
The great thing about using one of our proofreaders is Rogena will then look over all of their changes before the manuscript is returned to the client to accept or reject those corrections. We really do have you covered at RMJ MS LLC.

A note from the editor...
To current and future clients,
I understand the relationship between author and editor is a central part of publishing your manuscript. I've been told it's a relationship similar to being married. I'm not sure I would go that far. However, it is a vital part of publishing, so you want to find an editor you can relate to and who will do the best editing possible.
I am someone who reads a work of fiction with a critical eye. My expertise is in all things grammar, punctuation, and clarity. I aim to improve grammar, spelling, characterization, and general inconsistencies in the story. This includes working through awkwardness, logic flaws, and sentences that could be confusing to a reader before you publish your book. I am a professional with an eye for detail. Describing my editing in one word, I believe the word would be thorough.
I am a copy editor or copyeditor—depending on what style guide or dictionary you use. One who seeks to preserve your style, your perspective, and your voice while paying attention to every aspect of detail, including typographical errors that might have been missed in previous beta and proofreading. I am committed to you, the author, and strive to make you look your very best. I strive for excellence.
My focus is Concise Literary, Technical, Substantive, and Mechanical Editing—or Line-by-Line Manuscript Analysis. I focus on both Rules-Based Editing as well as Analysis-Based. I am dedicated to you, the writer, and to your story being told in your voice while focusing on how the reader will perceive it. My goal is to be ‘in sync’ with you, the author, as I am editing. Remember, I am not an author, but a reader. So I am a reader first, which means I am not out to rewrite your story.
Along with editing your book, I will tell you if a sentence isn't fluent or coherent. I will suggest a clearer way of writing the sentence or might suggest a better word or proper word usage. I will tell you if something confuses me within the story.
My goal is to help you create that perfect manuscript. I know your dream is always going to be to publish a bestseller. I am here to assist you in achieving that goal. I want YOUR book to reflect the hard work and dedication you have invested! Do not rely on your own eyes. Let me polish your manuscript for you.
Allow me to use my art and my craft to hone your talent as a writer. Just as writing a novel is an art, so is editing. I'm ready to apply my art to yours. Are you ready, too?
Sincerely and best regards from your biggest supporter, Rogena Mitchell-Jones
